One person suffered smoke inhalation after a grease fire started in the kitchen of a Streamwood home on the 1600 block of South Green Meadows Boulevard early Saturday morning, officials said Monday. Though the fire was contained to the kitchen and the damage was limited to the cabinets and appliances near the stove, there was smoke throughout the entire home, officials said. The victim was taken Amita Health St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates in stable condition. Just hours later, Streamwood firefighters were called to extinguish a second fire that was also started in a kitchen, this one at a home on the 1600 block of McKool Avenue.
