The report evaluated 189 senior living facilities across Illinois and 84 were deemed worth considering for safety and care of residents. ILLINOIS — U.S. News and World Report said in new Best Senior Living ratings released Thursday that 84 retirement communities in Illinois are worth consideration for older Americans as they plan for increasing medical needs. The report, now in its second year, evaluates nearly 4,000 U.S. communities in one or more of the following categories: independent living, assisted living, memory care, and continuing care retirement.
