Elgin Area School District U-46 celebrated the 50th anniversary of its bilingual program Saturday with families, current and former staff members, and alumni in attendance. The celebration, hosted by U-46's Multilingual and Multicultural Education Department, was held at Tefft Middle School in Streamwood. It included a panel discussion with current and former U-46 staff members highlighting the bilingual program's evolution into what is now a dual language program offered districtwide starting in kindergarten through high school.
